One of the most famous ice cream brands in the United Stated, Ben & Jerry’s, claims that grape ice cream does not exist. Maybe as you're reading this, you've realized that the ice cream shop in your neighborhood does not have grape ice cream. But maybe you think you've had it before? In reality, grape ice cream does not exist (PS: Your favorite popsicles sorbet, or Otter Pops do not count).
You may have seen a grape flavor in some snack foods, but never in an ice cream.
The real reason
In the history of gelato and ice cream, there has always been an issue when using grapes as your main ingredient due to the amount of water in the fruit. Yes, you can always have grapes in a puree, but using this fruit in a large scale for creating ice cream can become a problem.
Unlike the other fruits, grapes have a higher water content. You have to keep in mind that once you have a base that is watery, it's impossible to create chunks of ice. It's already a challenge to make gallons of ice cream per batch, imagine making watery ice cream. The bottom line is that attempting to make watery ice cream in large batches is not easy. Popsicles, on the other hand, are expected to be icy, but a lot of it is artificial flavoring. This may be fine, but for most ice cream or gelato companies, this is impossible. Fresh ingredients is a must.
Overall, people may have never tried grape ice cream or gelato. In return, they no longer desire to have one because of production difficulties.

other logical reasons
There are also other reasons why grape ice cream does not exist, these are:
- Grapes cannot be frozen. This is why yu can only make use of this delicious fruit in slushies, or for a simple snack.
- Grapes are a huge risk for dogs. They could be deadly for your furry friends, because it can spill on the floor and they may eat it. One time, Ben Cohen (from Ben & Jerry’s) made a grape flavored ice cream for a girl he had a crush on, who happens to be Becky, Jerry’s sister. Unknowingly, her dog ate some which led to her losing her beloved pet. From then, he promised to himself that he would never make grape ice cream again.
