Florence, July 18th 2016 - On July 18th 2016, the Italian Secretary of Labor and Social Policy, Mr. Giuliano Poletti, visited Alcas Headquarters based in Florence. For the past 50 years, Alcas has been manufacturing and exporting plastic packaging for the gelato, pastry and catering industries.
Guided by the 3rd generation, Alcas has become a leader in its market. Only in the last 5 years they have increased their revenue from €14 to over €21 million euros, taking 45% of the Italian and European market within its industry. The internationalization process has allowed them to recently open their first overseas venture: Alcas USA Corp. in Miami, FL.

During the tour, Secretary Poletti has been able too partake in our project and productive process of our products: design, mathematics, molds and prototypes all the way to marketing and communication strategy which stands behind the whole commercialization process.
With a cup of gelato, the Secretary has met with all the employees of the company, noting with admiration that focusing on a specific sector in Italy is something that can be done. In fact, only in 2015, favored also by the measures contained in the Jobs Act and taking benefit of the “Youth Guarantee” program, the Florence based manufacturer, had a human resource increase of 36%.
